8/11/20: Program has a limited amount of utility assistance funding *Basic Needs hours are 10am-1pm, M-F, on a walk-in basis; serves Leon, Gadsden and Wakulla County residents as well as persons experiencing homelessness *For individuals and families in need: emergency food pantry available once every 12 months, free clothing, hygiene products including feminine hygiene items and infant items *50 meals served 7 days a week at 11:30am and 4:30pm, best to arrive on time as sometimes meals run out *UTILITY BILL ASSISTANCE AS LONG AS FUNDS ARE AVAILABLE FOR LEON, GADSDEN AND WAKULLA COUNTY RESIDENTS; AGENCY DOES NOT PROVIDE RENTAL ASSISTANCE *Utility bill assistance procedures and eligibility: *Must meet income guidelines, available only once every 12 months, applicant must have had some type of hardship in the past 60 days that caused temporary financial change and inability to pay the bill *Can either pay full current month's bill, or $100 toward a past due bill, can not pay deposits or closed accounts, utilities must still be connected, payment must ensure another 30 days of service *AN APPOINTMENT TO APPLY FOR UTILITY ASSISTANCE IS REQUIRED; Call as early as possible on Monday (starting 8am) for a pre-screening interview to find out if eligible for an appointment *Have utility bill in hand when calling; do not leave a message as staff is not available to return calls *Calls are taken on Mondays starting 8am until all appointments for the week are filled
