Kearney Center, The

4/17/24: Now charging $10 per night for clients coming in from out-of-state due to a sharp influx in recent months *Helpline 2-1-1 refers adult callers with no children seeking shelter directly to the Kearney Center intake phone line *Intake phone line and walk-up assessment are open 9AM-4PM, Monday-Friday, and 4PM-8PM Tuesday-Thursday, excluding holidays; callers will have to leave name and reliable phone number *Caller information will go to case managers who will return calls within 2 business days between 8:30AM-5PM, Monday-Friday *Calls that come in on a Friday will be returned by 5PM Tuesday *Not everyone can be helped, please make sure callers understand this so they can consider other options if possible *Callers will be helped on a first come, first serve basis, with women and the most vulnerable persons having priority *CESC (Connecting Everyone with Second Chances) Health Care program offers a nurse clinic and dental center *No pets allowed except for service dogs on a case by case basis *Appeal process: Clients with grievances or concerns about services can physically go into The Kearney Center building 3PM, Mondays and Thursdays, to talk to an employee about their issues.
