American Red Cross Idalia Case Management and Financial Assistance:
This financial assistance will allow people to make their own decisions and prioritize what their family needs most to start recovering. Funds can help families replace clothes or food, offset transportation costs, replace spiritual or religious items, and support other immediate needs such as verified, disaster-caused health and mental health needs. This is not limited by any services/funds already received from other organizations, including FEMA. Minimum eligibility:
!€¢ Your pre-disaster primary residence (renter or homeowner) is in a confirmed disaster-impacted geographic area.
!€¢ The residence is either destroyed or has sustained significant structural damage that requires extensive repairs, or the damage is so extensive that repairs are not feasible.
!€¢ This may include substantial failure of the roof, walls or foundation, or a water line above 18 inches.
!€¢ You must be able to provide proof of identity and residence.

*Disaster education to help prevent, prepare for, and respond to a disaster
*Services in the event of a natural or man made disaster: shelter, food and clothing, distribution of supplies, emergency assistance to affected families, help obtaining prescription refills, mental health support, damage assessment, communication and liaison with groups providing services, planning, organizing and directing operations
*Offers worldwide tracing services for family members whose lines of communication have been broken as a result of armed conflict, natural disaster or vulnerabilities like age or ill health
*Website can be accessed from www.safeandwell.org and provides a way for individuals and families to register as "safe and well" during an area wide disaster; standard messages are provided to be selected to communicate the status of one's well-being, "I am well", "I am in a shelter", etc; concerned persons can search the list of those who have registered themselves as "safe and well"
