Description:

1/2024 Update: Renovations have begun and will continue until the end of June; Intakes will be very limited; Persons seeking shelter can still leave their information and be put on the waitlist

Voicemail may be full periodically, which can lead to a backlog of requests from clients. Still taking walk-ins, M-F, 8:30am-5pm. Prioritizing completely unsheltered, then infants/young children/disabilities, then general population.

*FAMILIES SEEKING SHELTER MUST CALL FOR PLACEMENT ON HOPE COMMUNITY'S WAITING LIST (850) 792-9433. THEY WILL GET A MESSAGE WHEN THEY CALL AND SHOULD LISTEN TO THE ENTIRE MESSAGE, WHICH WILL GIVE THEM THE OPPORTUNITY TO LEAVE THEIR NAME AND PHONE NUMBER. STAFF WILL ATTEMPT TO CALL THEM BACK WITHIN 24-72 HOURS. EVEN WHEN THERE IS A SHORT WAITING LIST, CALLERS WILL STILL HAVE TO LEAVE A MESSAGE IN ORDER TO BE SCREENED FOR ADMISSION. CALLERS IN THE MOST HIGH RISK SITUATIONS WILL HAVE PRIORITY WHEN THERE IS AN OPENING. (IMPORTANT FOR ALL PERSONS LEAVING A MESSAGE TO MAKE SURE VOICE MAIL IS SET UP ON THEIR PHONE AND THAT THE VOICE MAIL IS NOT FULL).

*Emergency shelter for homeless families, can include any single adult with legal custody of a minor child
*Offers three meals a day, a safe place to sleep, case management, housing placement assistance, life skills in a trauma informed setting that encourages recovery and responsibility
*Limit items to one small suitcase per person
*Bring bath towel, blanket and sheet if possible
*No sex offenders or persons with major felonies accepted
*Persons who know they will be homeless after a certain date may try calling well ahead of time
*Program is not to be confused with Hope House which is under a different agency and offers transitional living for homeless men
