1/11/2024: Funding for Rent and Utilities is available *APPLICATIONS FOR ASSISTANCE WILL BE ACCEPTED ON THE SECOND (2nd) and Fourth (4th) MONDAYS at 9AM *BE AWARE THAT ALL FUNDS FOR RENT/UTILITY ASSISTANCE COME FROM SEVERAL DIFFERENT SOURCES, AND EACH SOURCE HAS DIFFERENT REQUIREMENTS (INCOME IS JUST ONE OF MANY FACTORS); ADDITIONALLY, FUNDING SOURCES CAN CHANGE FREQENTLY *Program may be able to assist qualifying persons with past due rent and/or utilities (and in some cases rental and/or utilities deposits) *Walk-ins are not accepted; a phone screening is required *Funding is available for adults with or without children in the home *For families with at least one child in the home who is age 17 or under, the adult applying for assistance must be the parent or guardian of the minor child or children who live in the home *Food pantry hours are from 9AM-Noon from Monday-Thursday; Baby diaper/other baby items assistance is available from 2:30PM-3:30PM from Monday-Thursday; Walk-ins are accepted for food and baby items only; Clients must bring a photo ID for food and baby items, and clients are eligible once every two months

Community Action Agency, Getting Ahead

3/4/2024: NO FUNDING AVAILABLE AS OF APRIL 7, 2023 *Program consists of two components including a 15-week class called Getting Ahead in a Just-Gettin’-by World; then upon completion, participants shift to the Staying Ahead Program where they are paired with 2 mentors who meet regularly for about 6 months to advise, counsel and encourage *Program assists with GED, trade/vocational education, higher education to improve opportunities for jobs with a livable wage; employability skills, and opportunity to participate in the Agency’s On-The-Job Training (OJT) Program; job placement, coaching, and counseling; ongoing counseling, monitoring, and support from a case manager/social worker to ensure continued progress toward family self-sufficiency goals; multiple opportunities for crisis/emergency assistance during the first year (rent, utilities, food vouchers, transportation, childcare) based on the availability of resources *Participants meet once a week in a relaxed discussion type atmosphere and class members work closely with Career Source, TCC and Lively Vocational School; funding may be available to pay for tuition, books, job training, childcare on a case by case basis *Call for more information about class dates and times *Persons interested in becoming a mentor may fill out an application on website or call to volunteer

*GAAP is a volunteer organization for anyone infected or affected by HIV or AIDS, offering community referrals, support and social get-togethers like movies, plays, trips, and meals *Administers the TREE Project (The Replenishment of Everyday Essentials), which provides toiletries and household items that Food Stamps do not cover *Provides referrals for Ryan White Titles, HOPWA and PAC *Lunch served Tuesdays 10am-2pm, dinner served last Friday of each month 5pm-7pm, Drop-in Center open 9am-11am, 3rd Saturday

*Provide assistance to residents of Leon, Gadsden, and Wakulla Counties in need including clothing vouchers, food pantry, hygiene kits, limited baby and feminine hygiene products, furniture vouchers, disaster assistance program, Thanksgiving dinner on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving Day, and holiday Angel Tree assistance program *All assistance is for emergency services only and available on a limited basis; food pantry may be used once a month (except daily bread and pastries, when available); furniture vouchers are given on a case by case bases for those who are recovering from a natural disaster or homelessness and will require photo ID and a letter from a caseworker; personal hygiene kits are provided every 6 months, if available; all other all other assistance is available once every 12 months

*Affiliated with Trinity Episcopal Church but in a different location *Volunteer-run thrift shop that supplies free clothing for persons who qualify and low cost clothing for anyone *Persons needing free clothing should have validation of need via written note or phone call from a social service or helping agency: Community Action Agency, a church, sheriff, fire department, landlord, or health care provider *If unable to get validation, call or come anyway; includes homeless and transient persons *Outreach Ministry can assist with prescription expense when funding available through Trinity Episcopal Church
